How many times a day do you notice light?  if you are normal probably never. 

 In my quest to improve my photography skills I have become obsessed with light.  Now this seems simple enough until you try to go about normal day to day activities.  For instance, I cannot have a conversation with Chad in front of a window, or any other object that gives off light.  Why you ask, because I zone out and start studying how the light hits his face instead of what he is saying.  I know it is crazy.  I also do this with my boss, my kids, my mom, well basically anyone who comes into my vision.  I think it might be a good idea for me to start having all my conversations in the dark.  Well, maybe not all.  Well maybe only with Chad, and only if I have shaved my legs.   Back on subject.

Not only is the obsession ruining my social life, it is also taking over other parts of my life.  Just this morning I was late for work.  It wasn’t because I was picking out the perfect outfit or doing my hair.   I wore sweats and a pony tail to work today, really I did.  I am taking casual friday to another level.  Anywho, back on subject….  I was late this morning because as I was taking my sweats out of my drawer I noticed how pretty the bed side lamp light was falling on Tancee’s face.  I stopped and stared at her.  I studied the lighting pattern.  I admired what cute babies Chad and I make.  I thanked God for giving her to me.  Then, I ran and got my camera and captured this shot.

Then I decided that I love photography and light so much that I want to start a Project 365 (a photo a day).  So I ran to my website and started a page to document my project (you can see it up top in the menu bar).  Time passed and I was late for work so I hurried around the house, threw my hair in a pony tail, yelled at my kids to get up and hurry, and out the door we went.  Where I noticed the glorious morning light hitting the mountains…………………………. but opted not to take a photo for fear of losing my job.

Brogan is a spit fire, I adore her.   Kade is a gentle soul, sweet to the core.  I am sure they love each other but as brother and sister don’t show it.  I am sure when Kade goes off to college Brogan’s heart will miss him.  I am speaking from experience.  To me this image captures a fun moment in time, when they are young, and more than likely throw punches more often than kisses.  It makes me think of the times to come and the times that have gone by.  It makes my heart sing with love for my brother. 

So here is the image.  The image that captures a little bit of who they are.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed taking it.

Honestly, I don’t know what to say.  But I want to tell everyone that I have been over the moon busy.  It is taking me longer then I wish to get proofs and orders out.  SORRY!!!! 

My crazy life consists of diapers, pacifiers, lambs, goats, dogs, boys, one girl, many men, computers, phones, a new car, husband, dinner, trips to town, a full time job, a boss, etc.  Sometimes I get so busy that I lose track of time and before I know it weeks have gone by. 

My photography business has grown by leaps and bounds, which is awesome.  But I have to tell you I am experiencing some growing pains, so please bare with me.  I promise I am working hard.  Each and everyone of you is important to me and I want your photos to be perfect.  I am so happy to get to do something I love and I promise I will continue to work hard for you.  I LOVE THIS BUSINESS.  Sometimes I wonder why I am so blessed.  Because truly I am blessed to have something I love to do.   Creative outlets are so important.

PS…I love the growing pains, it makes me feel like I am on the right track.

Chad lost his job on May 13, our anniversary. It was a scary time, but some amazing things happened during this time.

Chad became Mr. Mom and was able to spend the summer with the boys. They grew closer and closer everyday. I came home to a clean house and home cooked meals. WOW!!! It is so nice to have a hubby who is willing to roll up his sleeves and clean the toilet, umm I mean bathroom. Chad has a new respect for women and what it takes to make a house run.

I was able through photography and my job to become the main breadwinner. Let me tell you homestayers, it is stressful to be responsible for your familes income. I had a few days when I didn’t think I could do it anymore. I found the strength and pushed on.

Chad started a new job today and it is bittersweet. It will be really nice to have his paycheck back, but I am going to miss warm chocolate chip cookies brought to me at work and his cute bottum in Wranglers bent over loading the dishwasher. Although knowing him he will still help out around the house.

Photography is going to continue in my life because I LOVE IT!!! I am planning on staying just as busy and will be able to put more into training and equipment. YEAH
